I usually end up stopping - blocking the road until there is a gap in oncomming trafic - then driving over the 2 edges of the speed bumps so the middle of my car and in particular the sump passes over the gap between the bumps without damage.
This is not exactly a safe procedure but its all I can do to get past without dammage in some streets. How many others have to do the same!</description>
